Self-Hosted Deployment Overview
Before choosing to host Cogynt yourself, there are a number of areas to review, including:
- The supported cloud service providers.
- The available Cogynt architectures.
- The costs associated with running Cogynt.
- Other considerations.
Supported Cloud Service Providers
Cogynt is compatible with the following cloud service providers:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Architecture
Cogynt architecture is categorized as the following:
- Multi-Availability Zone (Multi-AZ)
- Single-Availability Zone (Single-AZ)
- Air Gapped (both Multi-AZ and Single-AZ variants are supported)
Costs
Cogynt can scale horizontally and vertically, so costs are subject to grow while Cogynt is in operation.
Cogynt persists data, so storage nodes must be permanent, not ephemeral.
Cogynt replicates source data, so storage costs grow as a multiple of the amount of source data ingested.
Other Considerations
Electing to host Cogynt will provide various pros and cons, however it will require a high degree of DevOps responsibility and prerequisites. For more information, see Self-Hosted Deployments.
