Producing Model Documentation
Cogynt has two options for documenting models:
- Exporting model documentation to export entire projects as PDF files.
- Printing diagrams as physical documents.
This section explains how to use each option.
Exporting Model Documentation
Cogynt's model documentation feature allows exporting entire projects in PDF form. The exported PDFs contain diagrams of every part of the project, along with text that documents the various project components.
To export model documentation:
- In any view, click the system panel (☰) icon to open the system panel.
- Under Other Tasks, click Projects. The Project Management page opens.
- In the Projects table, locate the project to be exported.
- In the project's Actions column, click the Export Model Documentation (PDF) icon.
Multiple projects can be exported at once.
A modal appears in the bottom-right of the screen to show any exports in progress. Click the v icon to collapse the modal, or click > to expand the collapsed modal.
When an export is completed, the PDF is downloaded to your local machine.
Printing Diagrams
All views in Cogynt Authoring support printing the diagrams they show. The printing specifications can be tailored within Cogynt Authoring's Print Manager utility to suit your needs.
To print a diagram:
- On the right side of the action panel, click Print.
- In the Print Manager window:
- Click Settings to configure the print settings:
- Under Visual Options:
- Adjust the Grid Size by clicking and dragging the slider, or by entering a numerical value in the text field. The higher the number, the larger the squares of the grid.
- Adjust the Scale by clicking and dragging the slider, or by entering a numerical value in the text field. The larger the number, the greater the zoom level, and the larger the objects appear.
- Under Print Options:
- Check the Print Area checkbox to define a specific area to print. If the box is checked, a yellow overlay appears in the diagramming area. Click and drag the nodes on the overlay outline to resize it. Only the area beneath the overlay will be printed.

- Select an Orientation by clicking the corresponding option button (Portrait or Landscape).
- Adjust the Margin size by clicking and dragging the slider, or by entering a numerical value in the text field.
- From the Margin Unit dropdown menu, select the unit of measurement to use for the indicated margin size.
- Under Poster Options, select a Type from the dropdown menu:
- Select None to print the diagram normally (without any poster options).
- Select Column/Row to define the number of sheets across which to print the diagram. The diagram will be resized to fit the selected specifications:
- Click and drag the columns slider, or enter a numerical value in the text field, to set the number of sheets the diagram should occupy horizontally.
- Click and drag the rows slider, or enter a numerical value in the text field, to set the number of sheets the diagram should occupy vertically.

- Click and drag the width slider, or enter a numerical value in the text field, to set the width.
