Roles and Groups

User Management

Creating and managing users, roles, groups, and permissions within Cogynt is handled through the User Management application. It allows authorized users to:

• Create roles and groups.
• Manage user accounts.
• Assign permissions to roles and groups.
• Assign users to roles and groups.
• Select default roles granted to new Cogynt users.

Role- and Group-Based Permissions

Permissions within Cogynt can be assigned based on a user's role, group, or a combination of the two. Users can only be assigned to one role at a time, but can belong to one or multiple groups. The group or role that grants the highest permissions to a user is always honored. The list of permissions available for roles or groups are identical, so either can be used to flexibly meet various use cases.
