Entering Data Manually in Cogynt

In addition to uploading a CSV or JSON file, Cogynt's Data Management Tool also supports publishing a single entry record to a topic. The Manual Entry form allows publishing a single data entry for any existing project.

Note

A previously created project, event type, and deployment target must already exist in order to manually publish entry records.

To publish a single data entry:

1. Visit your organization's Cogynt Data Management Tool address.
2. From the landing page, click Manual Entry to navigate to the manual entry form. Any single data entry requires three values before publishing:
   1. From the Project dropdown, select an existing project.
   2. From the Select Event Type dropdown, select an existing event type.
   3. From the Select Deployment Target dropdown, select an existing deployment target.
3. In the Kafka Topic field, check the Overwrite existing topic on publish to overwrite the existing Kafka topic with data from the new value entered, if necessary.
4. From the manual entry form, fill in any field values. Hover over the field name to identify the expected data type and path associated with the value.
5. Click Publish to instantly publish the manual entry, or click Confirm and Publish to review the manual entry first. Click Cancel to discard the changes.
